  • Glasgow airport recorded 7.4m passengers in 2013, up 2.9% on 2012 driven by increased capacity provided by Jet2 and the addition of new carriers, Wizz Air and Lufthansa, on European routes and increased long haul traffic as a result of Emirates second daily service with Dubai operating for a full year. Domestic traffic growth arose from capacity increases on British Airways London routes and improved performance on other domestic routes by easyJet and Flybe.
  • Glasgow achieved its highest levels of departure punctuality, as measured by the proportion of aircraft departing within 15 minutes of schedule, in over a decade of 85.5% (85.2% in 2012).
  • Glasgow maintained its high average overall passenger satisfaction score in 2013 in the quarterly Airport Service Quality survey (directed by Airports Council International) scoring 3.96 (3.98 in 2012). Glasgow, being the first in the UK and one of only two airports worldwide, obtained the British Safety Council Sword of Honour.
